Under Byen: Mission

May 18th, 2009

I have already written about my love for Swedish indie folk bands, and I've got another one for you.

Under Byen, Danish for "Below the City," was founded in 1995.  I would categorize the group as experimental folk; infused with violin, cello, and piano, the group has a seriously unique sound.

Their most recent album, Samme Stof Som Stoff (in English, Same Fabric as Fabric) comes highly recommended...a recommendation which I absolutely second...but today I thought I'd bring you this rendition of "Mission" which comes from their 2002 Album entitled Det Er Mig Der Holder Traeerne Sammen (translated, "It is Me Who Keeps the Trees Together"...lovely, right?)

Enjoyment for your Monday:
