A couple of weeks ago I posted about Alice Cooper's newest project, The Rock, a teen center focused on at-risk teens in the Phoenix-metro area.

Next Saturday, May 9th, Alice Cooper and company will be hosting a day long music festival at Grand Canyon University's Outdoor Amphitheater in Phoenix, AZ.

Admission is free, and Alice will be there playing along with Halo of Flies, Runaway Phoenix, and a few other great acts.

Solid Rock: Alice Cooper’s Dream for the Future

Alice Cooper with Project Unicorn CEO Bill Rinehart

Alice Cooper stopped by the office today...yes, Alice Cooper, the man, the myth, the legend himself.

We're very excited about the beginning of what we hope to be a a strong and continuing relationship with Alice (stay tuned for upcoming announcements!), but I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you a bit about some fantastic things he's working on....some things all of us here at Project Unicorn are really excited about as well.

Alice Cooper is on a mission to make a difference, and he's doing it where it counts the most-in the lives of children.

Realizing that a large part of his career was built on teens around the world and that he yielded a great deal of influence over the youth culture, Alice approached his good friend and youth pastor Chuck Savale with an idea.  The two partnered together in an effort to make a significant difference in as many lives as possible, and for the past ten years, these two fathers and friends have focused on raising money to support other like-minded organizations and individuals.

To date, over $1.2 million has been donated; however, for Alice and Chuck, the dream is larger.  These two men have envisioned a center targeted at teens, built on the premise of providing teens with an outlet where they can flourish and prepare for their life ahead of them.

Enter THE ROCK, where Alice Cooper's foundation, Solid Rock will provide a safe place in which teens can develop their talents in a community based on Christian values...with a focus on self-discovery, music, self-expression, and creativity.

What Alice hopes to accomplish for these kids is amazing; he's after a demographic that's commonly ignored, and he's doing it in a way that has the potential to be the most impacting: through music (what Alice described as "the common denominator").

Project Unicorn is very excited about what looks like a promising future with Alice Cooper and Solid Rock.  Don't forget to come back for more details....we'll be keeping you updated on all the happenings here at the U.

Project Unicorn: Kickin’ It Old Skool

March 11th, 2009

Most of you should have noticed our players look a litte wonky (more on the technical in a bit), so I wanted to take a minute to fill you in on what's going on around here.

Earlier this week, I promised you guys some big announcements from Unicorn Media. Well here it is: UnicornMedia.com has relaunched as Project Unicorn.

Unicorn Media will still be around, housing the business-to-business platform solution side of the company...allowing media companies to utilize the amazing tools that we have in place at Project Unicorn. (If you're interested in learning more, please contact us here.)

So what does this mean for you? It means a new look and feel to the site and a return to the old school uniorn logo (vintage is totally in)...but with the same cool features and technology.

I'll be updating the players here at UnicornSightings, and keep a look out for a new look here at Unicorn Sightings. (Thanks in advance for your patience.)

Strike TV Coming to Unicorn Media!

February 25th, 2009

I'd like to be the first to announce to you that Strike.TV is coming to Unicorn Media.

Born out of the writer's strike in 2007, Strike.TV certainly has an interesting story to tell.  In December 2007, they challenged members of the Writer's Guild to create original programs for the web-and Strike.TV would provide the site and the ad revenue.  The ad revenue profits go to the Writer's Guild Industry Support Fund, which has been offering financial relief and other services to entertainment industry professionals negatively impacted by the strike.

The Unicorn Team is very excited to have Strike.TV on board as they'll be adding some fantastic content to the Unicorn Media platform...some seriously talanted writers are coming our way-Joe Kelly, Kate Purdy, Emily Wagner, Chelsea Gilmore and many, many more.

Stay tuned!  We'll be keeping you updated!
